 How to enter the codes [Set-up procedure]
1. Find the code for your device in the Code list.

Codes are listed by device type and brand name.
The most popular code is listed first. Make sure your device is switched on (not on standby).
2. Press the TV key on the ONE FOR ALL for the device you wish to Set-Up.
3. Press and hold down the MAGIC key until the red LED underneath the POWER key blinks twice (the red LED will blink once then twice).
4. Enter your (four-digit device code) using the number keys.
The red LED will blink twice.
5. Now, aim the ONE FOR ALL at your device and
press POWER. If your device switches off, the ONE FOR
ALL is ready to operate your device.
If your device does NOT switch off? Please repeat steps 1 - 5 trying the next code listed for your brand.

How to search the code

1. Switch your television on (not on standby) and aim your ONE FOR ALL at your TV.
2. Press the TV key on your ONE FOR ALL.
3. Press and hold down the MAGIC key until the red LED underneath the POWER key blinks twice (the red LED will blink once then twice).
4. Press 9 9 1. The red LED will blink twice.
5. Next, press POWER.
6. Aim the ONE FOR ALL at your Television. Now press CH+ over and over, until your Television turns off (everytime you press the CH+ key the ONE FOR ALL will send out a POWER signal from the next code contained in the memory).
You may have to press this key many times (up to 150 times) so please be patient.
7. As soon as your television turns off, press the MAGIC key to store the code.

Software upgrade tooling, software upgrade instructions, software initialization, parameter setting, software version and screen matching instructions

Software upgrade tooling
There are three kinds of using upgrade

tooling：

1.Use the combined interface(the parallel port) upgrade tooling :use the upgrade program: ISP_ Tool V4.0.5.exe（and higher versions）
2.Use USB interface upgrade tooling , use the upgrade program : versions higher than ISP Tool V4.3
3. Use the USB upgrade.

Tooling upgrade

1. Driver Installation: Upgrade tooling connected to the computer via USB, the first connection will be prompted to find the hardware, follow the prompts to install the driver, Driver file from the attachment "usb-update TOOL-DRIVER" folder inner tube MSTAR name of the subfolder word where you can, you are prompted three times, to be installed.
2. After installing the driver tooling, tooling and TV connected (switched on), open the upgrade tool "ISP_Tool V4.3.9.4.exe" (Note: The chart version of the tool used for the interception chart, the upgrade is still using V4 .3.9.4 version), run the upgrade program.

Cancel the selection in the red line frame of the above picture, result showed as follows:

3. Click the button connect on the toolbar first, if normal, system wills feedback a dialog box shows the flash style of the machine chassis As follows.

4. Click the button Read on the toolbar, a button read appears, click it and then select the upgrade file "CH-P06U (VC)-V1.15-YD12.bin"

5. Click the button Auto, and check the options according to the following picture.

6. Click the button connect on the toolbar, if has been connected successfully, there will popup a dialog box prompts the Device Type, click OK and then click RUN.When the upgrade process finished, a green prompt "PASS “will appear in the progress bar below.

Use USB upgrade
Enter the factory menu, select Software Update to finish the upgrade.

Software initialization
After finishing the software upgrading, enter into the factory menu, select Default, clear EEPROM.

The system will automatically boost after clearing EEPROM.

Software version
Related program information can be read from the software version, which is useful to professional to know the software’s states.

Factory mode parameter setting

Enter into the factory mode
Switch on TV set, and make it works normally:
1. Press SOURCE key on the remote control

2. Press number keys “3” “1” “3” “8” on remote control to enter password. Finish entering the factory mode. If you want to quit the factory mode, press POWER key to switch off the TV.

2 Use the key▲/▼on remote control to select items that need to adjust, use the key﹥/﹤ to adjust them.

Setting method of factory menu
1 Select the setting item
Operators can choose setting item with P+ and P- key, font with background display means the item has been chosen.

Press V+ key to enter sub directory.

Use P+ and P- keys on remote control to select up and down, then use V+ and V- keys to set.
2 Most of the menu functions are open under factory mode, if needed , item checking and effect test can be done by using menu .
3 TV signal switching can be done by directly pressing the number keys in factory mode .

Press MENU to back to the parental catalog, press EXIT to quit factory mode.

Simple factory debugging specification

Clear EEPROM, and set the parameters after upgrading according to the upgrade instructions.

Check the image and sound of each channel/source are normal (or abnormal).

HOW TO USE THE AV NETWORK

A/V NET button
Press this button to access the Audio/Video network (AV Net) menu. The AV Net allows the user to control external components with the LCD Rear PTV’s remote control. When you press the AV NET button, the ng window will pop up within the Display
Monitor screen. The window will disappear after 30 seconds if you don’t press any buttons.
The AV Net Setup Wizard will automatically start upon the very first use..
THUMBSTICK UP or DN  to highlight the equipment you wish to control or setup and then press THUMBSTICK  RIGHT.
Use THUMBSTICK UP/DN – RIGHT/LEFT  to navigate and SELECT to select button. The command on the button is passed through the IR mouse and onto the AUDIO/VIDEO equipment. These on-screen buttons are called “Soft Keys”.

[To access the cursor function of a specific equipment (Ex. DVD, VCR), select the “MENU” soft key on OSD, and press the MENU button of the LCD Rear PTV’s remote control. Then THUMBSTICK and EXIT button of the LCD Rear PTV’s remote control is available to control the cursor of the equipment.]

The Photo MC feature is useful for viewing digital still pictures from your digital camera using a memory card and displaying them on the TV screen. Insert Photo MC (memory card) to be viewed to a PC Card adapter. Insert the loaded PC Card adapter to the Photo MC slot of the control panel in the front of the TV.

Press THUMBSTICK RIGHT  to view the digital photos in THUMBNAIL view.
Use THUMBSTICK LEFT/RIGHT UP/DN, , ,  to select individual photos.
Press SELECT to view and enlarge individual photos.
Press SELECT once again to switch enlarged photo back to THUMBNAIL view.
Press MENU to access the PHOTO MC menu.
Press THUMBSTICK UP/DN  to highlight menu item.
Press SELECT to choose the menu item.
Press EXIT to quit menu.

Manual programming procedure [Direct code entry method]

Once you have the setup codes, it will take just a few minutes to configure your remote for your A/V devices. Note that if you own an AppleTV, Xbox One, Windows Media Center system, or Roku device, the setup codes for these devices are already preprogrammed to the A, B, C, and D device mode buttons respectively on the remote. If you do not use one or any of these devices, you can simply overwrite the pre-programming with your own setup codes.
Follow the steps below to program the remote to work with your devices
1. Turn on the device (ie: your TV).
2. Press the Device key on the remote you wish to program (ie: A, B, C, or D).
3. Press and hold the SET button on the remote until the signal LED (red light) blinks twice, then release the button.

4. Enter the first five-digit setup code for the device. The LED blinks once as each digit is entered. If the code is valid, the LED will blink twice quickly.
NOTE: If the LED does not blink twice after entering the five-digit code, repeat steps 2-4.
5. Aim the remote at the device (ie: TV) and press the remote’s POWER button (top right corner). The device should turn off. If it does not, you should repeat steps 3-5, trying each code for your device’s brand until you find the one that works.
6. Repeat steps 1-5 for the other devices you want to control.
Most buttons on the remote are already intuitively labeled, but some, such as the Device mode buttons (ie: A, B, C, and D) will need labels. You can add the appropriate supplied sticker labels above the buttons on the remote to clarify the buttons’ function.

Code search procedure 
If in the unlikely situation you cannot find a setup code match based on the above instructions, you can try searching the entire code database by cycling through all codes. To do this, follow the steps below:
1. Turn on the device you wish to control (ie: TV).
2. Press the desired Device mode button once.
3. Press and hold the SET button until the red LED blinks twice, then release.
4. Enter 9 9 1. The LED will blink twice.
5. Press the device group number that corresponds to your device (ie: 0=cable boxes, 1=TVs, 2=DVDs, Blu-ray players, streaming, 3=audio equipment).
6. Aim the remote at the device and press the
POWER button. The remote will send the IR codes of its entire library for the power button within that device group.
7. If the device does not respond, press the CH+ button and the remote will send the next code.
Continue until the device shuts off (press CH- for the previous code).
8. Once the device turns off, press the SET button to save the code to the selected device mode.

Resetting the remote to factory default 
If for any reason you want to completely clear all of the programming you performed on the remote to the original settings, follow the steps below:
1. Press and hold the SET button until the red LED blinks twice, then release.
2. Enter 9, 7, 7, the LED will blink four times indicating that it has been completely reset to the factory default.

Vestel 17Mb70 LCD TV board – How to enter the service mode, troubleshooting firmware update and more

Used with Vestel 32PF7017, Finlux 42FLHDF850U, JVC LT42TG30J, Sharp LC40LE531E PTP, Vestel Smart TV 42PF7017 and many other models LCD TVs

17MB70-2 main board is based on Broadcom concept IC. This IC combines DVB-T COFDM terrestrial and PAL/SECAM demodulators, HDMI receivers, a transport processor, a digital audio processor, graphics processing, Ethernet MAC and PHY, digital processing of analog video and audio, analog video digitizer and DAC functions, stereo high-fidelity audio DACs, a 400-MHz dual-threaded MIP processor, and a peripheral control unit providing a variety of television control functions. This IC also features an advanced video decoder capable of supporting high-definition AVC, VC-1, and DVB-T MPEG-2 streams.

Tuner FT 2112/3/8/9 are newly developed Half-NIM modules designed for both digital (DVB-T / T2 and DTMB for terrestrial China) and analog TV reception in compliance with

the European ATV standards for analogue, as well as with the terrestrial standard ETS 300 744 for DVB-T and the new terrestrial standard ETS 302 755 for DVB-T2. It consists of a 3- band RF tuner, which receives RF signal and down-converts it to an IF frequency of 36MHz for digital and 38.9MHz for analog IF. The analogue IF output can directly drive a SAW filter. A digital IF Stage, which consists of one SAW filter & gain-controllable IF that offers a sufficient output level to be connected directly to an A/D converter.

In active antenna option, the following circuit is used. ANT_CTRL pin is controlled by microcontroller. If ANT_CTRL is low, ANT_PWR will be low. If ANT_CTRL is high,
ANT_PWR will be high. OVER_CUR_DETECT pin is a monitor for short circuit in antenna.  OVER_CUR_DETECT is low, ANT_CTRL will be low, so ANT_PWR will be low. Finally, short circuit protection is done by circuits and micro-controller.

MAIN AMPLIFIER (TPA3110)

17MB70 uses TPA 3110 15-W filter-free stereo Class-D audio power amplifier for main audio output. The TPA3110D2 is a 15-W (per channel) efficient, Class-D audio power
amplifier for driving bridged-tied stereo speakers. Advanced EMI Suppression Technology enables the use of inexpensive ferrite bead filters at the outputs while meeting EMC
requirements. Speaker Guard speaker protection circuitry includes an adjustable power limiter and a DC detection circuit. The adjustable power limiter allows the user to set a "virtual" voltage rail lower than the chip supply to limit the amount of current through the speaker. The DC detect circuit measures the frequency and amplitude of the PWM signal and shuts off the output stage if the input capacitors are damaged or shorts exist on the inputs.

The TPA3110D2 can drive stereo speakers as low as 4 Ω. The high efficiency of the TPA3110D2, 90%, eliminates the need for an external heat sink when playing music. The
outputs are also fully protected against shorts to GND, VCC, and output-to-output. The short-circuit protection and thermal protection includes an auto-recovery feature.

SATELLITE RECEIVER (Broadcom)

The BCM4505 is a fully integrated satellite receiver single-chip solution targeted at multituner advanced modulation satellite receiver systems and ideally suited for new generation satellite receivers and integrated multifunction Home Media Centers. The BCM4505 integrates a CMOS tuner and advanced modulation decoder supporting DVB-S2 Broadcast, DVB-S, DIRECTV, and 8PSK Turbo applications. The highly integrated tuner section is based on existing volume-production Broadcom technologies and a direct conversion technology to reduce external components and increase performance. The BCM4505 is designed to support the full 1-45 Msps DVB operating range with support for
250 to 2150 MHz input frequencies. It contains two 8-bit A/D converters, all-digital variable rate QPSK/8PSK receivers, an advanced modulation LDPC/BCH and Turbo FEC decoder, and a DVB-S compliant FEC decoder. All required RAM is integrated and all required clocks are generated on-chip from a single reference crystal. The baseband IQ analog waveforms from the tuner section are sampled by the integrated 8-bit A/D converters and resembled by the integrated interpolative digital filter banks.  Optimized soft decisions are then fed into either a DVB-S-compliant FEC decoder, or an advanced-modulation DVB-S2 LDPC/BCH or Turbo decoder. The final error-corrected output is delivered in MPEG-2 transport format. The output clock is generated by an on-chip PLL for low-jitter operation and glue less integration with Broadcom's high definition audio video subsystems, such as the BCM7401 and the BCM7402. The communication link sections include an on-chip microcontroller for all system configuration, acquisition, control, monitoring and diagnostics functions, as well as an integrated DiSEqC 2.x controller for 2- way communication with an LNB, and a single FSK transceiver for communication with ODUs that support multiple LNB configurations over a single coax connection. The BCM94505 reference design is available for easy system design and testing using the BCM4505 advanced modulation receiver chip.

Problems and solutions

Staying in Stand-by Mode [Staying in stand-by mode, no other operation]

This problem indicates a short on Vcc voltages. Protect pin should be logic high while normal operation. When there is a short circuit protect pin will be logic low. If you detect logic low on protect pin, unplug the TV set and control voltage points with a multimeter to find the shorted voltage to ground. 

LED or IR not working

Check LED card supply on MB70 chassis.

Keypad or Touchpad is not working

Check keypad supply on MB70.

USB is not working or no USB Detection.

Check USB Supply, It should be nearly 5V. Also USB Enable should be logic high.

No audio at main TV speaker outputs.

Check supply voltages of VDD_AUDIO, 8V_VCC and 12V_VCC with a voltage-meter.  There may be a problem in headphone connector or headphone detect circuit (when

headphone is connected, speakers are automatically muted). Measure voltage at HP_DETECT pin, it should be 3.3v.

Device cannot boot, TV hangs in standby mode.

There may be a problem about power supply. Check main supplies with a voltage-meter. Also there may be a problem about SW. Try to update TV with latest SW. Additionally it is good to check SW printouts via Teraterm. These printouts may give a clue about the problem. You can use Scart-1 for terraterm connection.

No signal in TV mode.

Check tuner supply voltage; 5V_TUN. Check tuner options are correctly set in Service menu.  Check AGC voltage at RF_AGC pin of tuner.

How to enter the service mode

In order to reach service menu, First Press “MENU” button, then write “4725” by using remote controller.
You can see the service menu main screen below. You can check SW releases by using this menu. In addition, you can make changes on video, audio etc. by using video settings, audio settings titles.

Software Update
In MB70 project you can update the main IC software by using USB ports. You can find the SW update procedure below.
1. Software files should copy directly inside of a flash memory(not in a folder).
2. Put flash memory to the tv when tv is powered off.
3. Power on the and wait. TV will power-up itself.
4. If First Time Installation screen comes, it means software update procedure is successful.
5. You can check the SW release name from service menu.

No Backlight Problem
If TV is working led is normal and there is no picture and backlight on the panel.
Possible causes: Backlight pin, Pin 21 of Power socket] dimming pin, backlight supply, stby on/off pin BACKLIGHT_ON/OFF pin should be high when the backlight is ON. R185 must be low when the backlight is OFF. If it is a problem, please check Q131 and the panel cables.

Dimming pin should be high or square wave in open position. If it is low, please check S32 for BRCM side and panel or power cables, connectors.  STBY_ON/OFF_NOT should be high for standby condition, check R203.

Power socket

CI Module Problem [CI is not working when CI module inserted.]

Possible causes: Supply, supply control pin, detects pins, mechanical positions of pins.

CI supply should be 5V when CI module inserted. If it is not 5V please check CI_PWR_CTRL, this pin should be low.

Check mechanical position of CI module. Is it inserted properly or not.

Detect ports should be low. If it is not low please check CI connector pins, CI module pins.
